Specialist urology clinics provide focused assessment for specific urological symptoms or concerns, such as a raised PSA, blood in the urine, urinary symptoms, recurrent infections, testicular lumps or kidney stones. Mr Neil Haldar’s clinics provide consultant-led assessment with investigations and follow-up coordinated through the same clinical team.
Mr Haldar runs rapid-access specialist urology clinics for patients from Buckinghamshire, Berkshire, West Hertfordshire, London and Oxfordshire. Investigation requirements and timing vary by clinical problem, but when diagnostic assessment is needed, clinics are designed to deliver consultant-led assessment, on-site diagnostics, and a clear plan within days rather than weeks.
The same consultant — Mr Haldar — sees you from initial consultation through diagnosis and any required treatment. There is no rotation through trainees, no handover between phases of care. If your assessment leads to a diagnosis requiring surgery or specialist treatment, continuity of care is maintained throughout.

What “Rapid Access” Means in Practice
Across all eight clinics, you can expect:
| Initial consultation | Within 1–2 weeks of enquiry, usually much sooner |
| On-site diagnostics | Ultrasound, urine and blood tests at most clinic sites usually on the same day |
| Imaging (CT, MRI, prostate MRI) | CT, MRI and PET CT scans usually available within one week |
| Follow-up consultation with results and plan | Within the assessment window |
| Full diagnostic pathway | Typically 5–10 working days; up to 14 for complex prostate workups |
| Continuity of care | The same consultant from consultation through to treatment |
For urgent presentations — sudden severe pain, infection with obstruction, inability to pass urine, sudden severe testicular pain — please attend A&E or call 999. Private rapid access is for elective and post-acute care, not for active emergencies.

Frequently Asked Questions
How quickly can I be seen?
Most patients are seen within 1–2 weeks of enquiry, often sooner. Same-week appointments are routinely available — please mention urgency when booking. The full diagnostic pathway is typically completed within 5–10 working days, depending on the clinic.
Do I need a GP referral?
Many self-pay patients can self-refer. Most private medical insurers require a GP referral letter before authorising consultation or investigations — please check with your insurer before booking.
Will I see Mr Haldar himself, or a different doctor?
You will see Mr Haldar personally at every appointment. There is no rotation through trainees. If your assessment leads to a procedure or surgery, Mr Haldar performs it himself.
What if I need treatment that Mr Haldar doesn’t provide?
Mr Haldar takes a deliberately scope-clear approach to private practice — performing what he is high-volume in, and referring transparently to specialist colleagues for procedures outside his practice. This protects every patient by ensuring the right specialist for the right procedure. Examples of referral pathways include robotic partial nephrectomy, HoLEP for very large prostates, percutaneous nephrolithotomy, radical cystectomy, ablative therapies (cryoablation, RFA), and complex paediatric surgery.
Are these clinics suitable for emergencies?
No. For sudden severe testicular pain, severe renal colic with sepsis or anuria, inability to pass urine, or any urological emergency — please attend A&E or call 999. Private rapid access is designed for elective and post-acute care, not for active emergencies.
Do you see female patients?
Yes — three of the eight clinics (Haematuria, Recurrent UTI, Kidney Stones) routinely see women as well as men. The Paediatric Urology Clinic also sees girls
Where is surgery performed?
Surgery sites vary by procedure. Most prostate, kidney, bladder, stone, and scrotal surgery is performed at Chiltern Hospital, The Clementine Churchill Hospital or Princess Margaret Hospital. Vasectomy is performed at the Beaconsfield Clinic. At The Clementine Churchill Hospital and Princess Grace Hospital, London, I perform robotic radical prostatectomy where they have dedicated da Vinci robotic surgery facilities.
How do I book?
To arrange a consultation at any of the specialist clinics:
Please mention which clinic you are interested in when you call, or simply describe your concern and the secretary will direct you to the right pathway.
